Office of Military and Federal Affairs Accomplishments - 2007

  • Provided staff and resources to assist in the design and implementation of the State’s first BRAC Sub-cabinet.

  • Helped obtain over $4 million in Department of Defense Community Planning Assistance funds and Office of Economic Adjustment funds for DBED and its sister agencies, including the Departments of the Environment, Planning and Transportation.

  • Provided over 75 educational briefings and presentations for key stakeholders, the media and the general public to increase awareness and promote opportunities for community businesses, alliances, and other public and private sector partners.

  • Created, published and distributed the small businesses opportunities manual as a guide to assist small business to navigate through the federal procurement system.

  • Coordinated the efforts of the Maryland Military Installation Council to share information and ensure cooperation among military installations, state agencies, alliances, as well as local, regional and county partners.
