Chairman H. Thomas Watkins serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Human Genome Sciences. Prior to HGS, Mr. Watkins had nearly 20 years of experience at Abbott Laboratories and its affiliates in the U.S. and Asia. Appointed to the Life Sciences Advisory Board by Gov. O’Malley in 2009, Mr. Watkins is also a member of the Board of Directors of Vanda Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
