Maryland Economic Development Commission

The mission of the Maryland Economic Development Commission is to establish economic development policy in the State and to oversee the Department of Business and Economic Development’s (DBED) efforts to support the creation, attraction, and retention of businesses and jobs.  Founded in 1995, the 31-member Commission draws upon the expertise of the State’s business leaders to inform State economic development efforts by providing a comprehensive evaluation of the State’s business climate and recommending to the Governor the policies, programs, and spending priorities needed.

Steve Dubin became Chief Executive Officer of Martek in June 2006 after serving since September 2003 as President of Martek. Mr. Dubin joined Martek in 1992 and has served in various management positions, including CFO, Treasurer, Secretary, General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Dubin received a B.S. in accounting from the University of Maryland and a Juris Doctor degree from the National Law Center at George Washington University.
