Refund Policy

Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) Policy for Credit Card Payment Refunds for Event/Program Registration Cancellations

Issue Date: March, 2010

REFUNDS

A.   Cancellation Refunds for events/programs sponsored or produced by DBED will be granted according to the following schedule:
       Four (4) weeks or more in advance: 100%, less an administrative processing fee;
      Less than four (4) weeks in advance but ten (10) or more business days prior: 50%, less an administrative processing fee;
      No refunds will be made for cancellations within ten (10) business days prior to the starting day of the event/program.

B.   All refunds will incur a 10% administrative processing fee.

C.    No refunds will be made for “No Shows”. A “No Show” is a person who registers for a program but who does not cancel registration or attend the event/program.

D.   Refund requests will be processed as they are received. Refunds may take up to five to seven business days to process.

E.    DBED reserves the right to cancel an event/program due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable.  If DBED cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund.

Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.  DBED accepts no responsibility for travel arrangements or other actual or perceived loss due to cancellation of an event/program.

 F.   Registration cancellations and refund requests may be made only by email and must be received by the cancellation deadline. Please direct inquiries to dbedconfirmation@choosemaryland.org.
