Business development grant program which improves the competitive position of small and mid-size Maryland manufacturing and technology companies, provides matching training grants and support services to aid business retention and growth through training that upgrades the skills of existing workers for new technologies and production processes, improves employee productivity, and increases industry employment stability.

Maryland Business Works
Encourages promotion, creates additional job opportunities and improves worker retention by increasing the skill level of the existing workforce.
Workforce training grant program designed to assist Maryland businesses by providing financial assistance business with less than 50 employees for training. All employers are eligible to participate and receive a 50% reimbursement of training costs for approved projects.
$1 million of incentive grant funds awarded to Maryland under the Workforce Investment Act earmarked for training incumbent workers.
Workforce Investment Boards
A network of Workforce Investment Boards are led by private industry in the area to meet the current and future hiring needs of today’s employer community. These offices offer training funds through the Maryland Business Works program.
