Housing of all types are available in new developments and established communities throughout the state, with nearby access to great schools, public transportation, shopping, dining and outdoor concerts and festivals .

Programs like the Maryland Mortgage Program are available to help make buying a home more affordable. In 2008 the median home price in Maryland was $284,968.  Average prices ranged from $90,000 in Allegany County to $395,000 in Montgomery County.  Home prices in the Baltimore metropolitan area is generally lower than other northeast and west coast metro areas, ranging from $152,700 in Baltimore City to $375,000 in Howard County.
