Known as a lacrosse Mecca, the sailing capital of the United States, and birthplace of legendary athletes like Cal Ripken Jr., Dominique Dawes, Michael Phelps and Carmelo Anthony- Maryland prides itself on its storied sports history.

Maryland is home to sixteen professional sports teams, including the Baltimore Orioles and Superbowl XXXV Champion Baltimore Ravens. With 30 university teams competing nationally in various sports, student athletes have access to the training and resources necessary to be successful on and off the court.

Amateur leagues and events like USSSA Youth Fast Pitch Softball and Maryland State Youth Soccer Association provide year around opportunities for kids to play.

Maryland shines when it comes to events like the Preakness, the second Jewel of the Triple Crown, White Marlin Open, Cal Ripkin World Series and EagleMan Ironman Triathlon.
