DESCRIPTION | An all-day forum that teaches entrepreneurs to use social media platforms to grow a business, brand or organization will be held in Easton next week with expert Mindie Burgoyne of Great Blue Media. A primary focus will be on platforms as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and blogging to develop a huge network, word-of-mouth advertising and techniques.
The boot camp is designed for busy people in business, organizations or brand-building, according to Burgoyne, who says that worldwide, use of Facebook and LinkedIn networks is up over last year by 600 percent.
Writers, human resource professionals, people in media or government and business owners would benefit by social media tools, said Burgoyne, who lives in Marion Station on Maryland’s Lower Shore and works at the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. She also is a freelance writer, and, in just over a year, has attracted nearly 7,000 people to her Facebook and has 3,000 Twitter followers.
